Demonetization - Boon or Bane

As the world is getting ready for the end of yet another year, it so seems that an average Indian is awaiting the end of nightmare as created by the Demonetization drive by the Government lead by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. From November 9, 2016 till date it doesn't seem that the country has been provided any scope to breath afresh for the queues and the fights for the wait to have own money exchanged to valid denomination.

The biggest question that the critics are posing for the GOI are -
  1. Did Prime Minister ever consult anybody before declaring the demonetization drive to invalidate Rs. 500 and Rs. 100o denominations?
  2. Did Prime Minister take a decision too much in haste or was it deliberate to cause the panic in the country? Apparently some 55 or 60 deaths have been linked to this demonetization drive
  3. Did Prime Minister over looked the Constitution of India while taking the bold move? Thus voiding the Right to Property and similar other rights?
  4. Did Prime Minister ought to have discussion with the opposition and should he have moved by passing a motion in the Parliament to ensure every law maker would have been informed?
Though the list may go on and on and on, these are some of the more so common question that need to be discussed to decide if the step to Demonetization is Boon or Bane for the country as a whole. Oh well, I am deliberately skipping the points on controlling Black Money and Corruption, because I feel that the trait that we inherited from our rulers for ages, would not end with this one time drive unless there is a 360º approach to curb the Hawala, Gold, Property and other means of hoarding (Hiding) Black Money.

So coming back to the 4 questions listed above, now let's take a closure look at them one by one in chronological order -

  1. It is for sure that there was a group of few senior and young officers including economists who were involved in the overall decision making process. So the decision to me seems as well thought off and well discussed. Though it seems to have failed miserably when the Risk Evaluation would have been done where the core group missed evaluating the honesty of Bank Employees and the ATM refill Organizations. That appeared to have misfired and caught the GOI on Back foot. Rating - Proves to be Bane:
  2. Prime Minister should have taken the decision to bring the execution with a shocker and without giving time to the targeted people much time to react. However, the communication that went down the line to the masses wasn't handled well and the overall execution also failed to create that long term public interest in the outcome. Though the public sentiment is in favor while they talk in open, but the overall sentiment in closed circles is not in favor and the pain is quite visible for the common bread earner. Rating - Neither Proves to be Boon nor Bane
  3. Regarding the anti-constitutional decision, I would stand by and wait for the decision by the Supreme Court of India since this particular question is being evaluated by the bench. However, I am not sure whether Demonetization can be called as hampering Right to Property. Rating - Doesn't qualify to address Boon or Bane
  4. If Prime Minister would have had moved through Parliament, then the biggest motive of Demonetization drive would have been lost. The millions of unaccounted cash that has now made its way to the Banking channels would have disappeared and the culprits would not have been reported to the law as they are at this time. The mechanism to go with that surprise really helped GOI. Rating - Proves to be Boon
So when we look at the 4 questions, then the Overall decision provides some 50:50 results. The major point that would prove its worth is the overall impact it would have on the economy in a longer run. The longer run here would be counted for at least 2 years from now. That would be just the right time for the next general elections.

As for the immediate results, we would soon see it early next year with the results of elections in UP and Punjab. Though the by-election and municipal elections have been voted in favor of the ruling party - BJP and its coalition partners, the acid test would specifically be the election results in UP.

So, Demonetization whether is a Boon or Bane is something that totally would depend on the overall perspective with which it is presented or dissected. We know that the SOLD media would create all the hue and cry to oppose the GOI, but then we need to be wise to actually understand the truth and the actual effect rather than what we see or hear on superficial level.

Demonetization - Perspective of a Banker

Note: This is not my original post, but when I read it on a Facebook Page - Humans of Bombay, I couldn't stop copying and Pasting it here. Kudos to The team on that Page to have brought it out on Facebook and the entire Credit is Due to them, not me. Please Read On -
====================================================================

“I’m the manager at a bank. On 8th November, I was working a bit late when my husband called me and said, ‘how did you not tell me that 500 and 1000 Rupee notes are getting scraped’ and I was shell shocked. None of us had any idea what was going on…we just knew it was huge. So we went into work the next day, preparing for the days to come but no amount of preparation could fully prepare us for what was coming.

People’s view of the whole situation was limited to the lines they saw outside the bank, but what was happening behind closed doors was entirely different. We became a part of the dirty cycle that runs in this country. On one end there were chaiwallas, istriwallas who are queuing up to deposit their hard earned money but on the other end we're receiving black money that had been stashed away for years possibly and all this cash smells like rotten leather to the point where every one of our branches has ordered masks for the cashiers — that’s how unbearable the stench became! From fights breaking out and the police intervening to educated people storming our offices and violently asking us for money — we’ve dealt with it all.

Just the other day a builder who’s had an account with us for many years, came forward to finally pay us an amount that he had defaulted on a Non Performing Asset. When we had chased him for months to pay up, he had defaulted but all of a sudden he came forward! He has over 300 crores in black money, but before this he claimed to have none at all — that’s how dirty the business is.

Don’t get me wrong, i’m not complaining about what has happened — it’s a revolutionary move that will only strengthen our country and I completely understand what the common man is going through as well, but what can we possibly do? There’s only so much cash we have, and only so many people who can attend to such a large population.

What’s ridiculous is how people are behaving— they’re treating us so badly. Just 4 hours ago I received a call from a man from a place called Nanded who screamed at me non-stop. He went on yelling, blaming me, cursing in Marathi and I’m sitting there just wondering what I could possibly do and we’ve received dozens of such calls each day. Not just that, but the threats have also come. We get calls from people who are politically endowed and threaten to ‘send media to expose us’ or to ‘create a scene’ if we don’t move money — I mean when will we learn? We’re bankers — there’s only so much we can do! We’ve hardly slept these past few days, we’re not taking any weekends off…in fact most of us haven’t even exchanged our own 500 Rupee notes because we’re trying to help others first.

Our banks are losing money on interest and there’s already enough chaos…do we really need to add to it? We’re all in the same situation, we just need to sit tight and understand that steps are being taken to aid the process — this is for the future of our country and the least we can all do at a time like this is have patience and believe that everything will stabilise soon. And for heaven’s sake, stop trying to use more corrupt methods to get out of an already corrupt situation…we don’t need any more of it!”

Indian Diplomacy as Expected

As someone would say what was done by Narendra Modi to step up Military against #Pakistan. Well there is something called diplomatic measures too. Sometimes we need to trust brains behind the arms. what more can I say that brain has been given the highest place in the body by God itself

  1. 10 terrorists dispatched to hell by Indian Army after engaging the Pakistan Army who were providing cover fire
  2. Obama cancels meeting with Nawaz Shareef at UNGA
  3. UN Secretary General Man Ki Boon shuns off Nawaz Sharif
  4. China called Pakistan's claim of China's backing on Kashmir a bluff
  5. Russia cancelled its arms deal with Pakistan
  6. Russia cancelled its military drill with Pakistan
  7. Bangladesh assured backing India even if military action was planned
  8. Afghanistan & Bangladesh have extended "all kinds of support" including boycotting SAARC
  9. France offers "unconditional" support to India in fighting terrorism by any means
  10. German Foreign Ministry issues an official statement and assures its support to India in its war against terrorism
  11. Bill introduced in US Congress to declare Pakistan as a terrorist state
  12. Israel stands with India for hand in glove cooperation and support
Some people didn't notice this as the media didn't broadcast it and they called Narendra Modi ji as Narendra Manmohan Modi....well, silence sometimes needs to be treated with respect for actions personifying behind the veil.

Growing up with Age

We all certainly grow up in age, but that also results in us growing up on ego and attitude.  There is no harm to have ego and attitude, but that needs to be in the right place, not everywhere and not with everyone.  It is important and while we grow in age, we also come to age and accept the politeness and courtesy as demanded by the world.  Indeed, the world would neither accept our ego nor would it honor our attitude, if both were in wrong place, for the wrong reason and with wrong timing.

Having attitude is indeed a good thing if we are able to control the expression and aggression associated and ensure that the attitude is put to right use at the right time and to achieve the right results.  It is always suggested to ensure that our attitude doesn't rise to our head and guide us on the path of self destruction.

With respect to ego, well everyone has ego, some conquer it and many lose out to it.  those who conquer ego come out as shining and successful in their life.  They might at times get offended, get hurt and get bowed down, but in the end it is they, who we call victorious.  For those who get conquered by ego, they bite the dust down the lane of life and are always out there to insult and hut others. Ego is once again somewhere related to respect, so in my view, where there is respect & self respect, there is no ego and where there is ego, there is no respect.  So we do have to conquer our ego for the purpose of being respected, being successful and be victorious in our lives.

However, it is important to also ensure that Ego should not die and the Attitude should not vanish, they are important for our survival.  A right mix would always help in defining our persona and character to get there, where we want or where we desire to be.

Attack on Uri Base Camp

Indeed a sad day laden with the sad demise of 17 brave soldiers of Indian Armed forces in Uri Base Camp after that dastardly attack on the camp by the terrorists. Though the terrorists as the count read (4) were neutralized and till the last news that came in, search and combing operations were still on, the death or say the Martyrdom of the 17 soldiers would bleed our heart.  It was an attack once again and this time not on the streets but at the Camp where the soldiers were.

This attack at Uri was once again orchestrated from across the LOC and by the well known orchestrators sitting across the LOC in the confines of ISI in Pakistan.  These orchestrators enjoy that freedom of movement and support from the masses in Pakistan and the infrastructure from the ISI and Pakistan Army.  So it is a proven fact that Pakistan is indeed a rogue nation that needs to be brought to justice for all the atrocities impacted on the Indian Armed forces, their families and India as a nation.

It is high time that India resorted to a like for like approach and an approach that would say Jaw for a teeth.  It is time for India to that that plunge in and declare an all out attack on POK to destroy Pakistani forces there and along with them the Terrorist Heavens.  And this attack shouldn't be just a surgical strike, it should be a strike to take back the control of POK as well as Gilgit Baltistan that is indeed integral part of India but under illegal occupation of Pakistan.

There might be a fear of Nuclear war with Pakistan trying to use it as a mode of retaliation, but we need nor bother about one or two Nuclear strikes.  They would be able to attack Delhi or Mumbai with their Nuclear arsenal, but we have better capability to destroy Islamabad, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Karachi all in one go.  We as India would rise up back from the Nuclear attack, but Pakistan would be destroyed for once and for all.  They are already under $74 trillion debt and going bankrupt.  So if their spine would be broken once, they wouldn't be able to stand again to the level that they would even think to support any terrorist activity in India.

It is critical for the GOI to not budge under any national or international power and viewpoint, and resolve to teach Pakistan to bite its own toe and nail.

War is the way, If they want it that way!!!

Kashmir Turmoils

One Erica Derrickson claiming to be an actress, photographer and what not also claims to be a Human Rights Activist and the way she has put up her Voice Blog on youtube about the atrocities of Indian Armed forces on Kashmir is really hilarious. She claims that she had been to Kashmir and has "Seen" the atrocities of pallet guns and rapes by Indian forces and that Indian forces are illegally occupying the state of J&K. "WOW" what an (il)informed person she is, am sure acting on M(oney)power and not B(rain)power.

I am seriously wondering about what does she know about #Kashmir and the situation in #Kashmir? Is she even aware that the videos out there clearly show the way these misguided youths actually go out all the way to invite the trouble with the Indian Armed forces? She might not have seen the way India Armed forces actually warn the Stone Pelting Crowd before retaliating.  She might not have even met those 3000+ Indian Armed forces personnel who received grave injuries due to stone pelting. She might not be literate enough to know the amount of funds that are diverted from Indian Tax Payer money for development of Kashmir.  This is a sheer nonsensical jingoism that she is resorting to apart from our own Nawazon se pali Barkha Dutt and the well known dumb #yellowjournalism followers like Sagarika Ghose, Rana Ayyub and party.

She should probably also go to #POK and #GilgitBaltistan; what happens in #POK is something she needs to find out, What happens in #GilgitBaltistan is what needs to learn. She needs to stop forcing the myth of the smallest area of the territory of #JammuKashmir that is the valley and try to force it as view of entire territory.

It is very astonishing that people like her wouldn't even know that the area of Jammu and Laddhakh do not want to even continue to be part of J&K to be called #Kashmiri and relate them to this unrest raised by the paid supporters of #Pakistan. Probably, her masters and handlers haven't told her that #Kashmir would lose its sovereignty as a state, why should they tell that as it is something that would spoil their game. I challenge people like Erica to dare and ask people in #POK who do not have the freedom to even elect their government, they do not have the statehood and moreover, they are being ruled by people who do not belong to that area.

I have an open question to Erica and the likes brigade to explain why the sons and daughters of Syed Salauddin, Yaseen Mallik, Mirwaiz, and others like them do not feature in the idiotic movement? Can these idiots not understand how father of #BurhanWani got that big an estate when he is a poor headmaster?

It indeed is appalling situation that they killed scores of #kashmiripandits and then they attacked other locations including #Parliment and #Mumbaiserialblasts. These scum bags talk only what they are fed and what they are paid for. They don't even understand that this would lead them to path of destruction the way #Pakistan is resorting to #genocide in #Balochistan.

My overall suggestion to Erica and likes of her is to read the Indian History from 10th Century AD and first read about the #Genocide of #KashmiriPandits...How their women's were raped and how thousands been killed by Muslim extremist in Kashmir valley since then. It has been thousands of years of oppression of #KashmiriPandits but they never picked up arms and never revolted like this. The misguided youth in Kashmir is only missed about liberation and if they do everything like hoisting #ISIS flag or #Pakistani-flag and you supporting them means indirectly you are supporting #terrorism.

Erica, you have loads to answer and come clean on this one...

M K Gandhi and Nathuram Godse - A viewpoint

Received a message on Social networking  that contains a letter claimed to be from the Great Grandson of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi alias Mahatma Gandhi alias Baapu alias Father of Nation in India. Though I can't vouch for the originality of this letter, but the overall aspects highlighted in the letter is worth a read.

Highlight of Letter is the misuse or say abuse or say milking of the incident where Nathuram Godse had killed MK Gandhi. It has been almost 69 year to that incident , but INC still tries to exploit that episode. If they are trying that hard, it is important that some truth from the others should also see the light of the day.

Read ON
___________________
😳 Do spare a moment to know the truth from original "Gandhi" :

Mahatma Gandhi's great grandson Shri Krishna Kulkarni's open letter to
Rahul Gandhi in response to the Congress VP saying the RSS had killed Gandhi..

Dear Mr. Rahul Gandhi,
Gandhiji was my great grandfather. He was assassinated by Mr. Nathuram Godse.
Many inquiry commissions have researched the case and none has implicated the RSS.

My grandfather Ramdas Gandhi wrote to the then Home Minister, Sardar Patel to spare Mr. Godse the capital punishment.

Our family had moved on even then... but...just for  your information..when Ramdas Gandhi lay dying in Mumbai (1969), Mr. Gopal  Godse, the younger brother of Mr. Nathuram Godse did pay him a visit.

So as  it stands, this issue is squarely in the past and my family has moved on........

My humble suggestion -- your  folks who own Congress (I) and your
goodself...should move on AND QUIT milking the name of  Gandhi and this issue for YOUR SELFISH BENEFITS.

Have the magnanimity to accept the verdicts of the  various commissions. To keep harping that the RSS killed Gandhi is akin to saying the Sikhs killed your GRANDMOTHER ... which would be such a petty falsehood isn't it?

A  couple of guys don't make for a community.... So please stop this charade, stop this opportunistic usage of the Gandhi name.

YOU ARE NOT FROM THE GANDHI FAMILY. YOU HAVE FOOLED TOO MANY PEOPLE FOR TOO LONG USING GANDHI NAME IN INDIA. STOP IT NOW.

Feroze Gandhi was in reality Feroze Khan, son of a Gujarati Pathan Nawab Khan of Junagadh and his wife was a Parsi who had converted to Islam.

Your grandmother Indira was also a  Muslim having converted to Islam to
marry Feroze.

You are a mixture of Muslim and Christian.
There is no Rahul or Gandhi in you.

YOU are nowhere close to being a HINDU but a combination of MUSLIM/CATHOLIC DNA - with due respect to all the communities.

I am putting this in the public domain as someone from the Gandhi family has to call your bluff.
- Mr. Krishna Kulkarni

Bitter Fact of Freebies - Minority Appeasement

India, the great nation of history and culture, can also be termed as the worst possible country in the world when it comes to Politics.  It's not something that we inherited from years of our history, it is something that was inherited by JLN's Congress from his masters in East India Company.  Indeed the religious divide and the minority appeasement.  Britishers when set their foot on this land had actually set their sight in the diversity and they didn't even wink to see the cracks in the overall "Unity in Diversity". From then on, they went on to the level of giving us a divided nation on the basis of Religions.

The first Government lead by JLN went ahead and rooted the seed of caste based divide. Why, Oh Well, as part of the Vote Bank Politics, hell no.  For that matter it is very important to understand the lineage there and since I don't have enough data to go beyond 1857 AD, I am not going to discuss that matter here. But, it needs to be noted that Secular JLN and likes worked further on the agenda of crushing Sanatan Dharma or the Hindu Religion.  It is quite interesting how his daughter weds a certain Muslim Feroze Khan rechristened as Feroze Gandhi and then how things unfold in that lineage also.

Thanks to such national leaders that we went on to see the problem of Kashmir including the POK, Gilgit Baltistan and Ladakh.  How interesting it is that JLN who claimed to be a Kashmiri Pandit, never ever addressed Kashmir issue and more to it that in his term "Shaksgam Valley" a piece of India's territory to the north of Siachen Glacier was gifted by Pakistan to China and he still waited for UN mandate.  Why the hell did he go to UN to deal with the problem that was created by his short sightedness?  Further, if the lineage is of Kashmiri Pandit, why the hell in the world did 1990 incident ever happened where KPs had to take refuge in their own country?  Imagine being called refugee in your own country even after 65 years of independence.

Now to top it up, as if the caste and religious divide was not enough, JLN created another wonderful formula for Minority Appeasement - Subsidy.  So Subsidy for what? Subsidy for Religious Pilgrimage, for whom? the devote Muslims who would want to pay their visit at the holy shrine of Mecca in Saudi Arabia.  I simply fail to understand that when followers of other religion want to pay visit to their shrines, they are to pay their own expenses and then to top it up those expenses include various taxes including various tolls, service charges etc etc.  No ain't an intentional way to create communal divide? and then they want us to call India as a Secular Republic?  When we don't see that at par treatment, then why should be it a Secular Republic?

Another aspect to look at is the "Muslim Law Board", why do we need that?  If India is one Sovereign Socialist Secular Republic, then whey in the world do we need separate set of laws? One set for Muslims and second one for the rest of them?  Ain't it another idiocy of Minority Appeasement?

Third aspect is one of the most recent revelation to me at least and am sure most of the other fellow citizens would have been startled as well with that; the revelation I am hinting at is the Free Flights, Hotels and Other amenities to the Kashmiri Separatist Leaders from Hurriyat Conference and likes. It is said that every year Indian Government spends roughly Rs. 100 crore (Rs. 1 billion) on providing these facilities and these freebies to the likes of Gelani.  Why? may be someone in the ancestral Congress Government would have wanted to bribe them and keep them happy to reduce the noise or god knows if that was something that was devised to find them officially to keep the lamp burning. How interesting that the separatist leaders who fuel the terrorism, violence and agitation in the state of Jammu & Kashmir are funded by Indian tax payers' money.  What would it be called other than Appeasement?

Mixed Month Posts for August 2016 - Bulletin

May be it was olympics or the busy schedule I have been going through or may be just laziness per say; I think I missed writing for almost a month.  When I turn back there has been so much that transpired in India as well as world that I really got confused at which topic to select from. So I decided to do a catch up act for the purpose of ensuring that my article doesn't go out of shape.  There would be different parts in which I would like to cover various topics that I would have written if I would not have missed the bus....Read On

  1. We all heard that Secretary of State John Kerry visited India and was stuck in traffic snarls for an hour or so.  Now, while addressing the crowd at IIT Delhi, he mocked if they all made it to the venue by boat.  Interesting to note and it seems John Kerry forgot the Snow Storm that hit the East Coast couple years back, wish somebody would have asked him if he made it to his office on sledge.  However, jokes apart, we need to focus more on the water logging problem in Delhi and the mess of the stuff by the State Government v/s Central Government Control there.  It needs to be looked at as the failure to deliver and failure to govern.  I have lived in NCR for quite sometime, but never saw such a mess of state before this.  When I looked at the Pictures and Videos, it seemed to me as if they were to be from Mumbai.  However, Mumbai would declare such scenario before hand with declared school holiday, travel only if required advisory etc.  But Delhi, am sure has to learn a lot after seeing such deluge. Thankfully, I didn't hear any casualty news amid the mess.
  2. France  Burkini episode made heads turn with the video and images of Burkini related episodes and people started calling that as Islamophobia. Interesting that they all missed the bus and no one ever noticed the video or news on a woman being thrashed by Muslim Men for god knows what reason.  Apparently, I heard the news and am trying to get that video to put it in public domain, but then it has been a tough task.  But for sure Burkini made the headlines with all Pseudo Intellects and Pseudo Seculars in the world lining up to support a medieval period practice that is used for oppression of women.  And well, why was Burkini designed in the first place when we already had something called Wetsuit in place that divers do use, if complete body suite is must, then Wetsuit does provide the option. Isn't it in itself a way to radicalize and raise tempers? And eh, last I heard US suggested France to lift up the Burkini Ban....eh Hypocrisy??
  3. Piers Morgon, God knows who is he, started mocking at the India's 2 medal win at Olympics.  Why? for god knows what reason and went ahead to challenge Virender Sehwag for a bet of Rs. 1 million if UK wins a world cup before India wins (another) gold at Olympics.  he seems to have a week or no memory that India as 9 gold (8 in Hockey & 1 in Shooting) but England has no World Cup win.  They tried to claim that they won ICC T20 World Cup in 2010, whoa what a shame trying to compete on unequal grounds??  What more can be said about Piers Morgon that he needs some real life to get some facts in place.  He should not forget that for 200 years England ruled India calling it British India, they accumulated mammoth amount of wealth through trade (giving India nothing),  plundered Indian wealth the biggest example of that is Kohinoor Diamond that is part of queens' crown and also transporting millions of labors as well as soldiers from India.  Piers need to also note that even today British Army has Gurkha's as soldiers and the Gurkha's need not be citizens of England to join the Army there. So, the next time he opens his mouth, he needs to live with the fact that if he has the guts to speak some crap, we have the guts to put that crap back in his mouth.  Anyways, he seems to have suffered with Foot in Mouth disease when he tweeted all that stuff.
  4. Indian State of J&K was reeling under curfew after violence erupted post merciless killing of terrorist Burhan Wani dubbed as the son of a poor School HeadMaster by none other than nawazon se pali Burkha (oops Barkha) Dutt. What else, that the terrorist was declared Martyr by ppl from neighbor Pakistan. The violence, rioting or the violent protest by a peace loving community lasted for almost 51 days and guess where did that money come from to fund them to sit at home and enjoy paid vacations?  Per Sources crores of funds were mobilized through Hawala route and that is now being investigated by Income Tax Sleuths in India. Ah and I haven't heard much of violence in last day or two since the curfew was lifted when the State treasury had to distribute the Salaries for NOT working for almost two months.  Eh, seems protestors want to have the legal money also with them before hitting the Indian security forces once again with stones and other possible means.  It is also rumored or may be a truth that Nawazon se pali Barkha Dutt is leading the brigade to end use of Palate Bullets that hurt 5 to 15 year old in eye, nose, face and where not.  But while doing so, why does Ms. Dutt forget that the Indian Security forces never entered any house to shoot someone, so what were these young kids or tender age doing on the street with stone pelting crowd?  Certainly, the protestors used them as their defense.  While broadcasting the news of palate gun use, they are talking about the 70 Kashmiris killed and few thousand hurt, but they forget to mention the 1600 some indian security personnel who were severely hurt due to stone pelting.  Moreover, why don't the likes of Barkha Dutt, Sagarika Ghose, Rana Ayyub etc etc (morons) report on the atrocities by the protesting crowd to stop Doctors and patients including pregnant ladies??  Hell, yeah Pseudo Secular Yellow Journalist crowd....
  5. Baluchistan made news and headlines with Indian PM Modi mentioning about it along with POK, Gilgit and Baltistan.  Baluchistan was forcefully annexed to Pakistan and since then has been treated like a second grade province.  Though rich in natural wealth, Baluchistan never progressed like it should have and people there have been ever fighting against the oppression of Pakistan.  the genocide and other atrocities by Pakistani forces in Baluchistan has ever fueled the voice of Independence by separatist Balochi leaders.  I would cover this topic in detail with entire history and geography of Baluchistan to do the right justice to this topic.
Signing off from this Bulletin... Happy reading!!

Ghost Writers of my Country

Kashmir has been the epic problem that the Indian Union is trying to solve from last almost 6 decades, but thanks to Pakistan to have been able to keep alive the sessions of terrorism in the Kashmir Valley.  Also, the so called intellects and the Ghost Writers of Creative Indian Fraternity have been supporting the cause of Pakistan (knowingly or unknowingly is left to their conscious).  Just recently one of the famous young politician of India - Jyotiraditya Scindia had made a bold statement in Parliament - "We should stop blaming only Pakistan and look within us!!" Well I totally agree with him and after listening to my friend Veer - A Kashmiri Pandit on Youtube, I tend to agree with Mr. Scindia more and more.

I had already tweeted following in agreement of Mr. Scindia -

  1. agreed, so let's unanimously agree that Keeping Sardar Patel away from issue was the biggest fault
  2. Article 370 is the second big mistake we own from the point of view of and this needs to be eradicated
  3. issue needs to expand to along with and the state of .
  4. both PDP and National Conference must be barred from elections and any political referendum
  5. Bar Hurriyat as Anti National organization, just like SIMI and other terrorist outfits
However, after listening to Veer and the pain that emerges in his words and his voice, I was pushed to add the following points to look internally (yeah before blaming Pakistan) -

  1. Refine the guidelines for media houses to speak on the various topics -
    1. They for now raise topics in a fashion that defines a terrorist as martyr and creates a wave of sympathy towards terrorism
    2. Provides fuel to the leftist agenda causing more uproar against the government, certainly to hinder the overall government work and create a ruckus on the name of "Freedom of Speech"
    3. Provide more fuel to the Government officials and Politicians in Pakistan on the way "India is acting against the general will of its public". Hell no, Media doesn't define the general will, its the opinion of the columnist only.
    4. Create a negative impression on the India as a country with representation through negative statements against the Government
  2. Refine the guidelines for the creative writers who tend to be Big time Socialites and Experts on various topics. Excuse me on this, I tend to totally disagree and the live example of that is Shobhaa De.A creative writer can't always provide solutions to real life problem and specifically Kashmir, hell no.
So, let's look at the role of Shobhaa De on Kashmir, she is a self proclaimed expert on Kashmir issue with half baked knowledge of the same. She herself doesn't know the way the issue crept up and is known to profess referendum in Kashmir. My question to her and all the likes of her is - "Why should referendum be conducted without fulfilling the base requirements for conducting referendum?"

More so, do the likes of Shobhaa De and other's like Rajdeep Sardesai, Rahul Kanwal, Rana Ayyub, Barkha Dutt, Sagarika Ghoshe etc even know that the Problem of Kashmir involves larger areas of Gilgil Baltistan rather than just the POK and J&K?? Do they even have a idea that Pakistan has given only a small portion to Kashmiris and called that as Azad Kashmir and swallowed a larger portion of Gilgit Baltistan within its territories to enable easy access to trade with China. Pakistan even went ahead to gift a portion of the Kashmir territory to China, now is this known and acceptable to these Pseudo Intellects??

Asking for referendum as per UN resolution is easy, but there is a strict need for them to go ahead and read the full resolution that includes -
  1. Pakistan to demilitarize and stop offensive tactics from the entire Kashmir region including J&K, POK and Gilgit Baltistan
  2. India to reduce military presence in J&K to ensure that it matches the positive development by Pakistan
  3. Conduct referendum in the entire region not just J&K to ensure that the results are well balanced and represent 100% of the population to be considered and not just a few
It is also interesting to look at the overall composition of the region where the actual fraction creating and participating in the trouble making exercise is only around 35% to 40% of the entire population. And this fraction is said to be Sunni Muslim population. Shiites are said to have stayed away from participating in this controversy and have mostly condemned atrocities on Shias in Pakistan.

Moreover, the Pseudo Intellects to the likes of mentioned above also need to understand that Kashmir as a region has other religions and sects (namely Bodhha, Gujjars, Kashmiri Pandits, Mons etc) than just Sunni Muslims (who apparently get funding from ISI to terrorize the region).

These pseudo intellects also need to Read and be informed that Indian Army has captured 2 terrorists alive and they are of Pakistani Origin in just last 2 days or so. These terrorists have nothing to do with kashmir, they are just mercenaries to join the terrorist outfit for 72 virgins in the heaven (though they are hardly destined for that area).

May the Peace Prevail in the region!!!

Kashmir Unrest - Speculations

Kashmir unrest after the terrorist Burhan Wani was shot down by Indian Forces rocked the region and unfolded the political drama over Kashmir Situation.  Hurriyat called for Kashmir bandh and what followed after that is known to us all.  Now, since Kashmir is certainly my interest area from always and I have always been following the developments in Kashmir, I went into a few details around the problem and what I stumbled upon are a few tweets by Mr. Omar Abdullah that raised a few questions in my mind. So let's first refer the tweets -

So, looking at these tweets and the series there on, the primary question that cropped up was -"Is Mr. Abdullah really showing a concern or is sending an indirect / hidden message across on what needs to be done?" Other supplementary points/questions -
  1. Was he favoring Burhan Wani by stating his social media activities didn't have any militancy incident attributed, when we could all see what all was posted by him???
  2. What does he mean by saying "Burhan won't be the last to Pick the gun??" is he hinting that somewhere he supports youth picking up the gun?? Did he ever think what he said and what effect it is to bring on the young minds??
  3. Kashmir for certain is not a Political Problem.  It is a problem of Alter egos starting from his Grand Father.  Now, does he have those guts to go and tell Pakistan to act per UN resolution to demilitarize Kashmir - and that certainly should include the LONG forgotten Gilgit Baltistan area also and not just Pakistan Occupied Kashmir...
  4. His July 9th tweet is directly a sign of his support to militancy and separatist thoughts he harbors. In death of Burhan Wani he declares that Kashmir got a new Icon....This certainly call for questioning his creditability!!!
  5. His tweet on Burhan's ability to recruit from Grave.....fuels the separatist idea and clearly indicates that he is openly supporting recruitment by terror outfits on the name of Burhan Wani.
There are more tweets that can be referred to on his twitter page and they are equally mind boggling statements.  Mr. Omar Abdullah has not acted in the interest of Kashmir or the Nation. He has, from his work raised the temperatures in the Valley and has fueled Militancy mindset by his words as I decipher the above posted tweets.  Apparently if we map his top two tweets in the two pictures, they are more or less contradicting each other and shows how destabilized his own mind was with the death of Burhan Wani.  Seems like he lost a dear one...

Lot of more speculations can be generated for such a weird behavior by a person at that position in the Political Circles of Kashmir!!!

Water Crisis - Would Donations Help for Long Term

As I was sitting in one of my meetings, an email pop up attracted my attention for it had a subject "Give Water to Support Life at our Rural Hospitals".  I opened the email that drew my attention and behold, it was from an NGO - "Save The Children" that runs hospitals and that needs water in its hospitals for certain / obvious reasons.

I was moved by the way the appeal was made in that email, but then my mind was not aligning to sympathize with the request and the scarcity of water that has caused the crisis that the GOI actually supplied water through water train.  What actually happened is that a few questions came up in my mind and I was made to try and find a solution.  Not sure whether the NGO people would actually read my email or not and if anyone there reads it, would they actually respond or not?  Still, I sent my question to them to understand if their cause would end with just getting enough donations to ensure supply of water or they would actually look at sustainable model to ensure that they do not fall in this situation again.

The email that I sent out is as below.  I decided to put it in the public domain as I feel, every one of us who would donate, has the right to know whether the donation is being used for one time use or are they going to ensure that the donations are put to the right use for long term solution.

---------------------------------------
The email reply to Mitali from Save the Children

Hi Mitali et al,

I really appreciate the initiative and would do my bit as I can.  However, I have a few small question -

  1. Would donations for ensuring water supply work?
  2. Isn’t this a short term solution?
  3. Shouldn’t NGOs like your should ensure that better crop rotation aided with Rain Water Harvesting is promoted?
  4. Don’t you guys actually feel that the degradation of Water Levels in parts of Maharashtra and specifically Marathwada is due to the only crop “Sugarcane” cultivation?
  5. Don’t you guys feel responsible to create that awareness?
Actually Speaking, if your NGO would answer my questions, it would help me in ensuring that I look at doing more than just my bit.
---------------------------------------

If anyone of you out there feel that there should be additional questions or if you fee that you have the answers to the above questions, please do let me know through your inputs in form of comments...

Fact about Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan

I love the way this has been executed and the way the message has been conveyed. Ghori could blind out Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, but could not snatch his skills on Voice based aims....

Poet Friend of Samrat had recited the famous lines -

Incidentally, our history books don't teach us this fact, but they do teach us that Samrat was defeated by Ghori and glamorize Ghori's win. They History books also don't tell us that Ghori succumbed to the injuries and then Samrat was assassinated and buried at a place where the decedents of Ghori would go and kick his grave. Many of our Political leaders had gone to Afghanistan, but never visited the Grave until a brave son of soil dug that grave and brought the remains of Samrat back to India couple of years back.

There are many such things that do not get covered in the History books for obvious reason to glorify specific sect and benefit specific political agenda of Minority Appeasement!!!

Media Slaughterhouse

Media Slaughterhouse is not the place where Media get slaughtered. No, its neither my blog or any other blog where Media bashing is taken as the prime objective and where media is slaughtered by one and all. It rather is the establishment of Pseudo Secular Liberal Thinker Media (un)Professional journalists who slaughter everything that is not acceptable to them and their handlers. ahem ahem, Political handlers.

It is pretty interesting how the Media Slaughterhouse slaughters the mainstream voice by promoting and again promoting the news that they (ahem rather their handlers) CREATE. The (un)Ethical (un)Professional Journalists who certainly are from the breed that would love to bash anything and everything that has to do with positive of Majority and good of Majority.  They are the first ones to make mess out of anything and everything where the Majority does something good and where they try to provide a better outlook of the nation.

Media Slaughterhouse starts its day with promotion of Anti-Social activities through the support they derive from the NGOs trading in Human Rights.  Those NGOs for whom the entire book on Human Rights starts from the word Naxalite and ends with the word Terrorists.  Those NGOs neither understand nor acknowledge that the Soldiers also have Human Rights.  The Media Slaughterhouse is often infested with these NGOs working for the Human Rights or Naxals and Terrorists.  So the news of Martyrs like Capt Saurabh Kalia, Lt. Col R. Vishwanathan & 450+ Kargil Martyrs, Capt Tushar Mahajan, Capt Pawan Kumar, Lance Naik Om Prakash and scores of other, doesn't make any lead story for Media Slaughterhouse.  According to them if a soldier martyrs, its his / her duty to which the soldier fell. However, if the same soldier kills a Naxal or Terrorist or say captures it, the Slaughterhouse funded by the NGOs for Human Rights News broadcast start promoting such stories in length and width that the common man forgets the torturous Murder of Capt Saurabh Kalia and company.  Media Slaughterhouse had just covered that news for a day or two and then they moved on with torturing the families by asking them insensible questions including - "How do you think you would cope up with the death of your son?"  One of the so called Leading Super Star Journalist would time and again claim to have reported the Kargil War from the Front, but in the disguise how much information got shared (un)knowingly is something that has not seen the light of the day. That journalist is still leading the Media Slaughterhouse unscathed.

Media Slaughterhouse then serves the brunch of Anti-national news and interviews of those Anti-nationals bashing the system and hailing Martyrdom of Terrorists.  These Anti Nationals certainly get the cover from their political handlers who use them as the Political Ammunition. Some who realize that they wasted their life in wrong hands try to mend their ways and when unsuccessful in doing so, they end their life.  But again, the Media Slaughterhouse would blame not so responsible people than those responsible.  The Media Slaughterhouse would even sponsor the kith and kins to make "Prompted" statements and "Coached" responses against the system.  Many of such incidents were caught on camera and were available in the public domain.  One such case was of a kid in Madhya Pradesh state who was being coached to make statement against the Chief Minister because CM or his aide had slapped him for begging!! The kids wouldn't say what the reported wanted to say and got irritated by repeated coaching. The wannabe (un)professional Journalist trying to break into the Media Slaughterhouse pushed that kid and walked away for the not so Obedient behavior by the kid.

The evening snacks from the Media Slaughterhouse is Anti-government interviews, statements and coverage on fake fear and anxiety.  The Media Slaughterhouse that was not even in hindsight during the 3 years of emergency from 1975, starts talking about the level of intolerance and insecurity in the country. The Interview broadcast also involves speakers from the set of people who were shunted out of the lutyens house and had to move back to own expenses as government denied them the privilege any more.  The height of intolerance by the Media Slaughterhouse is the depiction of the country as the MOST insecure place to live for the minority. Interesting, can they please highlight which other country in the world is more secure to this effect? This dish of Nation's slam is roasted in the minds by delivering it through the known celebrities.

The dinner served by the Media Slaughterhouse involves the leftovers from the morning till evening and sometimes repeat of the paid news and talk shows.  For the citizens who by the dinner time would have had searched enough from the alternate sources and known the truth, the dinner time from the Slaughterhouse is nothing by stale and unacceptable serving.  But Media Slaughterhouse still serves the same during the prime time as it then gives mileage to the Anti-Social and Anti-National Elements.  In a way this serves as the purpose of advertisement for them to get the mileage for which they have been longing and the Media Slaughterhouse is the best launchpad for them.

The same routine in repeated day in and out by the Media Slaughterhouse with the dishes they serve. How much ever stale, artificial or inept they may be, the way they are served, the common man starts believing them as the real tasteful dishes. With that the common man starts falling pray to the Media Slaughterhouse believing that the misappropriation of power has started in past 18 months or so only.  Before that the nation was a paradise and everyone was living in peace and tranquility!!!

February 2016: Black Month of Indian Politics - Role of Media

The recent series of events in India that created a political storm are something that all seem to be well coordinated and well planned events. I was just trying to get through the overall set of incidents that all started on February 9 and are carrying on till date.  The media reports have all been covering those incidents back to back barring the most important or say positive one.

Let's have a relook at the way incidents started from February 9, 2016 in chronological order -
  1. Anti National Sloganeering in JNU Campus - February 9 2016
  2. Anti National posters surface in JNU Campus - February 10 2016
  3. Cover Up Speech by JNUSU president including Anti RSS speech, JNUSU president arrested for Sedition - February 11, 2016
  4. Patiala Court Misshape including Lawyers and JNUSU president that is then blown out of proportion by Media
  5. Jat Reservation Stir starts - February 12, 2016
  6. Haryana burns under the riots and robbery for next 10 days or more
  7. Involvement of Congress Aide in JAT Stir is ascertained by a leaved Phone recording - February 21, 2016
  8. Audio leaked becomes viral on Social Media forcing Congress to issue show cause notice to the identified person - February 23 2016
  9. Media reports highlight Gang Rapes in Murthal near Sonepat in Haryana - February 23, 2016
  10. Punjab and Haryana High Court takes note of the media report to seek report from Haryana Govt. - February 24, 2016
  11. Incidentally the CCTV cameras around the reported site do not provide any such record or any rape and the people who were quoted in Media reports deny making any such claim of any such rape!!! Situation still not clear
Now, In the whole case the mainstream media had been repeatedly covering the above news. There was hardly any space given to a very successful roadshow conducted by Government of India for its Make in India Concept.  Incidentally most of the people I spoke to never ever remembered the dates of the Make In India road show that was conducted for one full week (February 13 - 18 2016) in Mumbai.  The only related news that I witnessed getting telecast in the mainstream media was about the Stage of Make In India catching Fire (Girgaum location).

It was quite interesting to note how successfully the Media covered the 11 points mentioned above and just ignored to cover the Make In India roadshow where MOUs worth $222 Billion were signed.  As stated, most of the people (I spoke to about the incidents / events that transpired in India in the month of February 2016) were totally clueless about Make In India roadshow or the overall success / contributions.  None were able to recall the Make In India program efforts by the Govt of India and their knowledge was limited to the declaration by Indian PM Mr. Modi.

How interesting it is to evaluate the overall series of events and how interesting it is to note that the events successfully marred the overall success of Make in India Roadshow.  Yet again the opposition parties and the Media nexus seems to have coordinated WELL to promote negative news than the constructive outcome from the Governments' efforts....

Indian Media - Another Successful Campaign

Indian Media is known to highlight certain news and let it run through a preset time period to ensure that the Mass attention is diverted from certain successful events to certain unpleasant event. In the whole game they brutalize the success to the level that positive news gets suppressed and the masses don't even come to know about it.

In the present context, the JNU row is highlighted to such an extreme level and the way it is covered across the news channels, we the people of India have lost out the positive news about the Success of Make in India week organized in Mumbai.  Interesting part, the same Media was at the forefront when the make shift stage at Girgaum Chaupati location caught fire and then the same Media Vanished from the scene.

I am seriously concerned with the role of Politicians and the Media nexus to not let the good things make news.  Have they crossed that level of low moral that they only like to MAKE negative news?  To be it does seem to be the only possibility as I have not read or heard any positive news about the initiatives of the present government.

Starting from Swachha Bharat Abhiyaan that was treated more like a Photo Op and publicity stunt by the Celebrities as well as the Politicians to the Make In India program, every move is to be lauded and supported with more concrete actions, but the Media is hand in glove with the Negative / Destructive Politics.  For instance, Media person would only highlight the plight of garbage in a locality and show it time and again on the news channels highlighting the failure of Swachha Bharat Abhiyaan, I am certainly shocked that they have time for their TRP, then why not use the same to ensure that the locality they are highlighting is cleaned as well.  Shouldn't they be the ones who should become the torch/flag bearers to lead by example? I guess not as it would be too low and too filthy a work for them, probably they wouldn't even clean their own house as they hire someone else to do it and it that someone goes on leave, they rue of uncleaned house in social gathering!!! Wake up and clean yourself!!!

Coming on to Startup India program, media published and covered the program only the day it was declared by Hon. Prime Minister and after that I didn't hear much of news or talk shows or Political / Social debate on that topic. May I know why?? as I feel cheated if such a news is not covered well and if such a case is downplayed to restrict the reach to masses.  It seems that it is a coordinated effort once again from Media and destructive politicians to ensure that the positive news doesn't reach the levels it should.

Talking about the Make in India program and the recent event conducted in Mumbai, I am not sure why Media was shy of covering the outcome. I understand it was not as successful as it should have been and we didn't see the level of foreign investor's participation as would have helped the cause, but again signing MoUs worth $222 billion or Rs. 15 trillion is not a smaller news.  Even if going by the history of such trade shows and the various success factors, it would ensure that in next 2 or 3 years we would see at least 20% of those MoUs actioned. That 20% would mean a fund flow of at least $44 billion and it should only be simple math to calculate the jobs created and the economic boom for the country. But media wouldn't talk about this as this would not get them TRP!!!

This time once again the Media successfully suppressed the news well under the vile of JNU Row and now added to that is the JAT Row. The well devised strategy by the Dirty Political Motives supported by Sold out Media with vested interests has successfully diminished the Positive effects of "Make in India".

Freedom of Speech - The Myth

Freedom of Speech is the most abused Constitutional Right conferred on the Citizens of India. Now that is a very bold statement to be made on an open platform like this blog, but I have my own reasons to that effect. Consider following cases -

  1. Arundhati Roy - Creative writer of sorts has today become a self made "Kashmir Expert" with her anti-Indian statements on Kashmir, but then she covers up her statement under the vile of "Freedom of Speech"
  2. Barsha Dutt - A prominent Media person and with who I have had couple of interaction when I was on her Show "We the people" makes such absurd comments on the Government and on the Country, but covers it under the vile of being a Media person with "Freedom of Speech"
  3. Rajdeep Sardesai - I am not sure why is he still in business when he can't make one positive comment on the Government as well as the Country. Always heard him making statements that should label him traitor, but goes Scott Free with Freedom of Speech
  4. Owaisi Brothers - Man am not sure why they have not been pressed with Sedition Charges
  5. PDP as a Party - Always up making controversial statements on the fringe of "Freedom of Speech"
  6. Many other Trolls on Social Media - Get Scott free as they think they exercise "Freedom of Speech"
Now, lets' talk about the most recent case of JNU in Delhi, a group of students purportedly supported by some Extremists and some Political parties went on to shout Anti India slogans and then try to cover it up under "Freedom of Speech".  What are we thinking and what are we trying to prove there?  You can't be threatening someone or for that matter the Nation and hide behind your right to Speech. Interestingly these young turks were not taught the right meaning of Freedom of Speech that comes with "Riders"

If I simplify the language for Freedom of Speech as defined under the Constitution of India, in simple terms it would mean - Your Freedom of Speech is limited by the Concerns of National and Individual Security. That is if your Freedom of Speech is in conflict with the National Security, the freedom is no more the privilege; similarly if your Freedom of speech is in conflict with peace & social balance, then again that freedom is no more a privilege.

The important aspect that needs to be read here is Right to Speech or Freedom of Speech is a privilege conferred on to you under the constitution of India and the Law Enforcement Agencies have the right to withdraw that privilege should they or anyone perceive that your Freedom of Speech is in conflict with Freedom to Live and Exist.

Those who are supporting the Student Leaders of JNU for that matter now consider their support under the light of above two paragraphs.  They need to open their eyes to read the facts, open their ears to hear the reality and then take a conscious decision to either support or not support the case.  It is highly disheartening to see the way they are getting played and misused by the Politicians as well as Media.  If you ask me about the March in support or against it being conducted, my first question would be - "Who is the Organizer?" and second would be - "How much Money has been making the rounds?"

It needs to be the collective conscious that needs to decide the exercise of "Freedom of Speech" rather than what we are taught by the set of so called Leaders and Politicians.  Please understand that by (mis)using your support these leaders and Politicians run the money machines for themselves and what you get is the same old life till they exploit your Freedom of Speech for their Benefits.  Please wake up and understand the true nuances and stop harboring Parasites on yourself and stop them from implanting their views on your Tongue!!

Economics of Petrol Prices in India

Over the years we have seen a steep rise in the price of the Petroleum products. The phenomenon has been more so on the basis of the Global Crude Oil prices shooting up to the levels of $ 120 a barrel.  The resultant change in the price in India was from say Rs. 20 a liter to almost what we saw as Rs 72 a liter.  The prices were also supported by the depreciation in the value of Re v/s $ where we saw Re dropping from 35 for $1 to what we have seen 68 for $1.

However, in the recent times the Indian Basket for Crude oil has fallen below $30/barrel and that pegs the Per liter of crude oil at Rs. 12.80/-.  Shipment to refinery, processing to extract Petrol, Diesel, Kerosene and other products from it would vary the cost and the price of the finished product.  If we take the case of Petrol, the finished Petrol out from the Refinery costs roughly around Rs. 23.40/liter and then from there it adds up the excise, sales, VAT, and other central and state duties to vary on price from state to state.

Media has raised this issue time and again that the falling crude prices are not reflecting in the retail prices. But we have seen some portion of reduction, not as much as we should have seen.  partly because of the current rate of $ against Re. where if we actually see the rate then from where we compare it to now, then we would find that the $ is almost double from what it was last when the crude was below $30.

The Second case that goes in for not being able to witness the reduction is cost is because the Govt. subsidy is wearing out and the oil companies now have open market policy to define rates.  To this effect though the oil ministry still govern the prices, the reduction is now decided in four parts -

  1. Oil companies covering their past loses
  2. Central Govt covering the cost of infrastructure development
  3. State Govts eating a pie from the profits
  4. Consumers / end users getting the benefit

So now if relook at the overall reduction, the benefit that the media says should be passed to the Consumers is actually distributed in four parts, so the consumer gets lesser benefit than expected.

On the other side, it needs to be noted that the State Govts get benefitted two ways where they get 42% of the excise duty collected by the center and on top of that they charge various taxes like State Sales Tax, Octroi tax and others.  So, the price reduction actually doesn’t have the required impact as when the oil companies reduce the cost of Petrol, the State Govts at times increase the duties and levies on the Petrol. This also marginalizes the overall benefit that the consumer should get. Classic example had been when mid last year the petrol prices were reduced, but the Delhi govt. increased the tax % to fill their treasures

So, the economics of Petrol Prices, benefits passed and the benefits surrendered have their own tale. Media needs to be more responsible to ensure that they bring in the right facts in the public forum rather than just the plain & simple cost v/s end product price comparison.

However, the impending benefit would be visible as and when the GST regime would be implemented and we would see uniform price reduction / upward swing across the country…
