एक वार्तालाप

कल संध्या समय जब में अपनी पुत्री के साथ घर से बाहर निकला तो देखा कि नगर सुरक्षा दल के २ सदस्य वहाँ खड़े थे। मैंने उनसे नमस्कार किया और एक सदस्य से वार्तालाप प्रारम्भ हुआ। बातों बातों में आतंकवाद एवं गोलीबारी पर चर्चा हुई तो मैंने कहा - हमारे भारत में तो इनकी जब इच्छा होती है बम के धमाके और गोलीबारी कर देते है। इसपर उस सुरक्षाकर्मी का प्रत्युत्तर सुन मैं प्रसन्नतापूर्वक दंग रह गया। उनके कथन को मैं हिंदी में टंकित करता हूँ -

"हमारे यहाँ तो खार पतवार हम स्वयं ही बढ़ते हैं, आपके यहाँ तो सीमापार से वार होता है। आपका तो पड़ोस से ही सारा व्यावहारिक तौर पर मिलता है।"

उनका यह कथन सुन कर प्रसन्नता यो हुई की इस पराय राष्ट्र में भी उनको हमारी व्यथा का ज्ञान है और दंग इस प्रकार हुआ कि उन्हें इस बात का ज्ञान है।

अपितु क्षोभ करने योग्य बात भी है उक्त वार्तालाप में कि Barkha Dutt, Rajdeep Sardesai, Shekhar Gupta, Sagarika Ghose एवं उनकी जात के अन्य भ्रष्ट पत्रकार इस सत्य को नकारते ही रहते हैं।

Ghost Writers of my Country

Kashmir has been the epic problem that the Indian Union is trying to solve from last almost 6 decades, but thanks to Pakistan to have been able to keep alive the sessions of terrorism in the Kashmir Valley.  Also, the so called intellects and the Ghost Writers of Creative Indian Fraternity have been supporting the cause of Pakistan (knowingly or unknowingly is left to their conscious).  Just recently one of the famous young politician of India - Jyotiraditya Scindia had made a bold statement in Parliament - "We should stop blaming only Pakistan and look within us!!" Well I totally agree with him and after listening to my friend Veer - A Kashmiri Pandit on Youtube, I tend to agree with Mr. Scindia more and more.

I had already tweeted following in agreement of Mr. Scindia - 

1. agreed, so let's unanimously agree that Keeping Sardar Patel away from #Kashmir issue was the biggest fault
2. Article 370 is the second big mistake we own from the point of view of #Kashmir and this needs to be eradicated
3. #Kashmir issue needs to expand to #GilgitBaltistan along with #POK and the state of #JammuKashmir.
4. both PDP and National Conference must be barred from elections and any political referendum
5. Bar Hurriyat as Anti National organization, just like SIMI and other terrorist outfits

However, after listening to Veer and the pain that emerges in his words and his voice, I was pushed to add the following points to look internally (yeah before blaming Pakistan) -

1. Refine the guidelines for media houses to speak on the various topics - 
1. They for now raise topics in a fashion that defines a terrorist as martyr and creates a wave of sympathy towards terrorism
2. Provides fuel to the leftist agenda causing more uproar against the government, certainly to hinder the overall government work and create a ruckus on the name of "Freedom of Speech"
3. Provide more fuel to the Government officials and Politicians in Pakistan on the way "India is acting against the general will of its public". Hell no, Media doesn't define the general will, its the opinion of the columnist only.
4. Create a negative impression on the India as a country with representation through negative statements against the Government
2. Refine the guidelines for the creative writers who tend to be Big time Socialites and Experts on various topics. Excuse me on this, I tend to totally disagree and the live example of that is Shobhaa De.A creative writer can't always provide solutions to real life problem and specifically Kashmir, hell no.

So, let's look at the role of Shobhaa De on Kashmir, she is a self proclaimed expert on Kashmir issue with half baked knowledge of the same. She herself doesn't know the way the issue crept up and is known to profess referendum in Kashmir. My question to her and all the likes of her is - "Why should referendum be conducted without fulfilling the base requirements for conducting referendum?"

More so, do the likes of Shobhaa De and other's like Rajdeep Sardesai, Rahul Kanwal, Rana Ayyub, Barkha Dutt, Sagarika Ghoshe etc even know that the Problem of Kashmir involves larger areas of Gilgil Baltistan rather than just the POK and J&K?? Do they even have a idea that Pakistan has given only a small portion to Kashmiris and called that as Azad Kashmir and swallowed a larger portion of Gilgit Baltistan within its territories to enable easy access to trade with China. Pakistan even went ahead to gift a portion of the Kashmir territory to China, now is this known and acceptable to these Pseudo Intellects??

Asking for referendum as per UN resolution is easy, but there is a strict need for them to go ahead and read the full resolution that includes -

1. Pakistan to demilitarize and stop offensive tactics from the entire Kashmir region including J&K, POK and Gilgit Baltistan
2. India to reduce military presence in J&K to ensure that it matches the positive development by Pakistan
3. Conduct referendum in the entire region not just J&K to ensure that the results are well balanced and represent 100% of the population to be considered and not just a few

It is also interesting to look at the overall composition of the region where the actual fraction creating and participating in the trouble making exercise is only around 35% to 40% of the entire population. And this fraction is said to be Sunni Muslim population. Shiites are said to have stayed away from participating in this controversy and have mostly condemned atrocities on Shias in Pakistan.

Moreover, the Pseudo Intellects to the likes of mentioned above also need to understand that Kashmir as a region has other religions and sects (namely Bodhha, Gujjars, Kashmiri Pandits, Mons etc) than just Sunni Muslims (who apparently get funding from ISI to terrorize the region).

These pseudo intellects also need to Read and be informed that Indian Army has captured 2 terrorists alive and they are of Pakistani Origin in just last 2 days or so. These terrorists have nothing to do with kashmir, they are just mercenaries to join the terrorist outfit for 72 virgins in the heaven (though they are hardly destined for that area).

May the Peace Prevail in the region!!!

भारत में पत्रकारिता का पतन

कभी सोचता हूँ की भारत में समाचार पत्रों के माध्यम से अथवा विभिन्न टीवी चैनल्स के माध्यम से हमें क्या समाचार प्रेषित होते हैं। आज का पत्रकार मेरे विचार में पत्रकार काम और भांड ज्यादा बन चूका है। एक समय था जब पत्रकारिता आजीविका का साधन तो थी, किन्तु उसमें एक सत्यवादिता थी।  आज सत्य का तो पता नहीं चलता किन्तु समाचारों में विश्लेषकों की वादिता रह गयी है। आज हमें समाचार नहीं सुनने को मिलते अपितु समाचारों के नाम पर विश्लेषकों का मत सुनने को मिलता है। 

पत्रकारिता आज बिकाऊ व्यवसाय बन चुकी है एवं इसमें अधिकतर व्यक्ति केवल धनार्जन हेतु ही कार्यरत हैं। धनार्जन यदि आजीविका के लिए हो तो मैं समझ सकता हूँ, किन्तु आज के वरिष्ठ प्पत्रकार जिस विलासिता से जीवन यापन करते हैं, उससे तो अन्यथा ही प्रतीत होता है। ऐसे ही दो वरिष्ठ पत्रकार हैं इस राष्ट्र में जिनके नामो का उल्लेख किये बिना ही उनके कर्मों का विश्लेषण करने से हमें ज्ञात होगा कि वे एवं उनकी प्रजाति के पत्रकार किस प्रकार पत्रकारिता की मर्यादा का उलंघन एवं हनन करते हैं। वैसे आप समझ चुके होंगे मैं किन दो वरिष्ठ पत्रकारों के कार्यों का विश्लेषण करने का उल्लेख कर रहा हूँ। ये दोनों पत्रकार एक ही टीवी चैनल में लगभग एक साथ ही आये थे, किन्तु आज दोनों अलग अलग टीवी चैनल्स पर कार्यरत हैं।   

तो पहले पत्रकार के कर्मों का विश्लेषण करें तो हम पाएंगे कि उन्हें काश्मीर एवं पाकिस्तान से कुछ अलग ही लग्गाव है। कारगिल युद्ध के समय प्रसिद्धि प्राप्त करने वाली ये महोदया, कभी भी कहीं भी भारत-पाकिस्तान एवं काश्मीर पर चर्चा प्रारम्भ कर देती हैं। इसका जीवंत उदहारण अमेरिका के न्यूयॉर्क प्रांत में उन्होंने राष्ट्र के समक्ष रखा। एक तीसरे राष्ट्र में जा कर भारत-पाकिस्तान के छात्रों का समूह बना कर इन्होने भारत एवं पाकिस्तान के प्रधान मंत्रियों के एक ही निवास स्थान में रहने किन्तु वार्तालाप ना करने के बारे में चर्चा कर दी। क्या इसे अशोभनीय नहीं कहा जाएगा? उसी चर्चा में इन्होने काश्मीर पर चर्चा का विषय भी चुना, क्या यही उनकी राष्ट्रवादिता है? इन्हे तो कारगिल के समय भी लज्जा नहीं आई थी जब अपने पत्रकार होने का धाक इन्होने सैनिकों पर दिखाई थी। अपनी प्रसिद्धि पर इन्हे इतना गर्व है कि जो ये कह दें वहीँ समाचार बनना चाहिए एवं वही प्रसारित भी होना चाहिए। 

उनकी जोड़ी के दूसरे वरिष्ठ पत्रकार हैं जिन्होंने मेडिसन स्क्वायर पर राष्ट्रवाद का मखौल बनाया था। देश के प्रधान मंत्री को अमेरिका में आ कर लगभग आतंकवादी ही बना दिया था। सं २००२ से इनके जिव्हा से गुजरात के दंगों का प्रचार होता आया है एवं आज भी इन्हें कुछ और मिले ना मिले उस विषय पर ये वार्तालाप करने को तत्पर रहते हैं। इन्हें तो संपूर्ण भारतवर्ष में हुए दूसरे दंगों से कोई वास्ता ही नहीं है। इनकी सुई केवल वहीं जा कर अटक जाती है। अभी विगत कुछ दिनों में इन्होने एक और महान कार्य किया जिसमें इन्होने महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री को सार्वजनिक पत्र लिख कर मांस पर लगे प्रतिबन्ध पर प्रश्न किये। किसी भी नेता को नीचा दिखाने को तत्पर रहने वाले इन वरिष्ठ पत्रकार को इतना भी नहीं समझा कि थोड़ा शोध कर लेते। 

अब यदि हमारे राष्ट्र में ऐसे २ महानुभाव पत्रकारिता के पाठ पढ़ाएंगे तो ये तो तय है कि हमें समाचार नहीं भाँडो की जिव्हा से निकले विभिन्न प्रकार के विश्लेषण ही सुनने को मिलेंगे एवं हम अपने विचार उन विचित्रपूर्वक विश्लेषणों से ही व्यर्थ पनपाएंगे।  

पत्रकारिता के ऐसे पतन का मैं सर्वदा विरोधी रहा एवं रहूंगा।

Operation Rahat and Indian Media

Media and Yellow Journalism seems to have become synonyms for the time that we are living in.  Media would just report what would sell and what would bring more money to them.  And certainly it has to be controversial.  

Regarding the operation Rahat, where India really did well to bring back almost all Indians (but one) back home alive, the Indian Media was by far the last to report it.  Rather I happened to read one specific report in one of the leading publications that India responded slower than China and where the mistakes made by India were highlighted.  But that particular media house seems to have missed the boat in understanding that there were only 500+ Chinese, where as there were 4000+ Indian stranded in Yemen.  Interestingly, the western countries were also issuing travel advisory to contact Indian Mission to get evacuated from the War Torn region. 

The whole world was looking towards India to help evacuate their citizens.  However, the Indian Media was busy praising Pakistan for helping rescue 11 Indians and sending them home.  The whole limelight was occupied by that news than the efforts by the Indian Mission and Indian soldiers and other government departments to smoothly run operation Rahat.

As usual, Indian Media has proved that they are not going to publish what is right, they are going to publish what is paid for!!!!  Would have they done anything like this -

Pseudo Secularism and Yellow Journalism show

The most recent news from Indian journalism is the criticism of Rajdeep Sardesai's much deserved slap gate episode. Interesting point in the whole report is the video that has been referred by the journalists stating "Rajdeep Sardesai manhandled by mob at Madison Square Garden. The Video referred rather shows Rajdeep hitting someone in the crowd and it so seems he forgot that crowd doesn't have a face, he indeed has with a name.

As if that was not all that the practitioners of Yellow Journalism started condemning the act and when I voiced my view point one (not so respected) Bengali (not so) gentleman started bashing me on Twitter calling me names and cursing me. I thought of giving it a pass, but he seemed to have a sleepless time as he was not successful in getting his antidote of cursing :-)).  He came around to me on Twitter in another 3 hrs later seeking if I am wiser than before. Huh that man went ahead calling me a Hindu Extremist because I said I don't support his yellow journalistic thoughts. Apparently he heard a mouth full from me and hope could sleep after that :-)) may be my words worked as his sleeping pill :-)) may be he is used to get a dose daily before he gets sound sleep. I don't blame him for that, Yellow Journalists and Pseudo Seculars need that dose. 

So what this episode boils down to? Why am I writing about it? Truly two very good questions that must be answered. So let me try answering them one by one. 

1. The episode reestablished my viewpoint that the journalism in India is at all time low. Why should a senior journalist like Rajdeep Sardesai give a provocative statement standing between the crowd. Did he run out of his wits or did he think he would get away from this ad usual? Rajdeep Sardesai was wrong in his approach and making a communal / racist remark in US where he can be prosecuted.
2. The episode followed by the twitter word of exchange with the chap I mentioned above reestablished my thoughts that there are a lot of Pseudo Seculars who would stand up for Rajdeep. They would not think twice before opening their mouth and will speak as if they have foot in mouth disease. 

So where do we go from here? When Media, the fourth pillar of democracy would be polarized and would resort to yellow journalism, what trust would we have on them?  

Seriously,  we the people of India whose heart beats for the nation should show these guys the door and shout boycott them totally. We should stand for our nation and for fair and righteousness. Enough of Pseudo Secularism and Yellow Journalism.
