What is the Religion of Terrorism?

I have been often hearing the usage of terms - "Islamic Terrorism", "Hindu Terrorism", "Saffron Terrorism", "Islamic Militancy", "Hindu Militant" and so on.  Media had been actually using these words along with the political powers to skim the curiosity of the readers / listeners.  However, usage of these terms really amazes me at the Creativity of the people in Media or in the Political party to have created such phrases / annotations.  I mean what are they trying to achieve with usage of such communal words??

I mean across the globe, it is quite common to listen various cases with reference to "Islamic Terrorism".  I have an strong objection to the usage of such term as it creates a Biased Hatred and Biased Communal Feelings towards the specific / targeted sect and religious followers.  Similarly in India the new terms Hindu Terrorism and Saffron Terrorism as coined are highly objectionable to be used.

I am not sure why and how media behaves in such an irresponsible manner when it is supposed to be the fourth pillar of democracy and where it is supposed to be responsible representation of the Civil Society.  We can understand that the Political Parties as well as the Politicians may do this to create a Sympathy wave for themselves, but WHY MEDIA???  I don't think that Media gets anything special by the use of such phrases, unless they want to look at higher TRP / Ratings by using such Sensational Terms.

I guess, it is really important that the Law Enforcement Agencies and the Judiciary to ensure that the Media is provided adequate guidance to NOT USE such terms as they do nothing good other than create Communal Hatred as well as Communal Tension and Unrest in the Society....

Yeah Media needs to Behave Responsible!!!!

Few things to Ponder

The word love is something that is mostly one way traffic. Mostly we keep dwelling on the way the love bug biyes us and we are lost in the divine feeling. One thing that has remained unclear to most of the lovers is the fate of their love. Yes, they love someone but that someone is in love with someone else.
Strange feeling and specifically when one loves someone who had been the reason for one to believe in Love. Also, when one falls in the trap of love for someone knowing well that someone loves someone else, its the fault of the one to love someone and expectimg love in return. It must be well known that someone already loves someone else and the expectation has to go.
That is the destiny of love and qhen one sets out to kill the expectations, there is a lot of fight within self. The fight makes one behave erratic and wierd. The fight within one also spoils the surroundings and the relationship that is shared with the people around.
The best way to deal with the situation should be to turn passive, be invisible, preferrably move out from the habitat and shift to a newer place, be with new set of people and on the top plunge oneself in work or activities that occupy the mind displacimg the feeling of Love.
May be the last para might not soumd logical to people who firmly believe in love, but myself as a Non-believer in the wird and philosophy of Love, it seems to be the logical conclusion. But, one needs to bear in mind that all this DOES NOT in any way mean serve the ties or camraderie that is being shared.

Mumbai - Wednesday Terror Strikes Again

Terror once again strikes Mumbai and this time again on a Wednesday.  Strange but true that Mumbai Police is still looks like they have no clue of where and how things happened and their information network seems to have failed once again.  Once again they are making one after another confusing statement.  First I heard / read that it was quoted that the bombs were not triggered with use of remotes and then there was a news that terrorists used cell phones to trigger the blasts.  Strange but two contradictory theories.

There are few questions that have bugged me from two days now -
  1. News sources claim that cops in Mumbai got calls that confirmed the dastardly act as act of terrorism.  Why the cops didn't trace the calls?
  2. If the blasts were triggered using Cell Phones, how could the perpetrators gain the Cell Phone Connections?  Aren't cell phone companies require to strictly follow the KYC (Know Your Customer) process?
  3. Where are the cops in evaluating the CCTV footage from Opera House? Just identifying few guys talking on phone for 30 to 60 mins is not the only suspicious activity that would have been reported.
  4. Blasts were identified as using Ammonium Nitrate and IEDs, well why aren't Authorities acting in to identify the source of Ammonium Nitrate?  Isn't it a regulated product for which a license / permission is required before commercially producing it? Am sure if the authorities dig this angle they might get the trail...
It certainly pains that Mumbai has headed to be the soft target of Terrorist or is it that the Mafia and Underworld has a good nexus and good connections that makes it a soft target?

First they Day Light Murder of Mid-day journalist and then the blasts.  Could they be somewhere connected?  Is it a possibility that Jyotirmoy Dey might have sniffed the plan and would have started investigating in the lines and may be for that he got killed?

Am not sure, may be the pain and the two days of drama in the pain of the terror strikes might have made my mind wander in all the directions, but I guess it is high time that the Cops act and well for the Government to ensure that the future of Mumbai is safer than what it is today.

I guess its high time that Government operationalizes the security measures that were discussed in Parliament by the PM himself on December 11, 2008.  Incidentally many of them were covered in my blog Terror Attacks in Mumbai - Steps to Counter Terrorism that I had written on December 3, 2008 post the November 26 seize that was one of the worst nightmare for the residents of Mumbai.

Once Upon a Time

Once upon a time, someone was in love
Once upon a time, someone believe in love
Once upon a time, someone war hurt in love
Once upon a time, someone lost all in love

Now at present, someone is trying to stabilize
Now at present, someone is trying to energize
Stabilize the state of mind, energize the thoughts
Trying to collect the pieces of the earthen pots

The earthen pot that was filled with love once
The earthen pot that was his lost chance
The pot that depicted his shattered mind
The pot that depicted no mercy no kind

Was She Playing? - Part V

Continued from Was She Playing - Part IV....

Rishabh, Alisha and Tapan look around for Shivangi while the rest of the gang not knowing about the scene as created just enjoys and grooves to the party music.

Tapan spots Shivangi hiding behind a pillar and he approaches her with mixed feelings of how and what he should be saying to Shivangi.  Though Rishabh told him that Shivangi considers him like her brother, but he did see Shivangi's love for Rishabh in her tears and in her expressions when she had moved out a while ago.  As he gets near Shivangi, Shivangi looks at him and catching him by his collar says -

"I am not sure why do I become gloomy and why do I just try to not believe in the word Love in the modern world.  I am not sure why whenever I have had been in Love or whenever I tried to believe in Love, the destiny ensured to prove it otherwise.  I am not sure why the destiny has to play devil in this case.  Yes I loved Rishabh to the best I could, but he loved Alisha and they are getting married.  He always thought I consider him my brother and he always treated me like his own sister. I am not sure if I would ever be able to come out of my feelings for Rishabh, I don't know if I would be able to devote my love to someone else.  I know Tapan, somewhere you have a feeling for me and I think you love me, but I consider you as a friend, the friend who is always there for me to help me and to listen to me.  Yes, it's true that I don't love you!!!!!"

Tapan just looks at Shivangi with a mixed expression of disbelief, shock and anger.  He is not able to understand what is he supposed to say and how is he supposed to react.  He stands there looking at Shivangi, who has been crying inconsolably and his mind has stopped responding. He has gone totally Senseless.

He starts backing off from there leaving Shivangi to her tears.  He walks towards the Door when Alisha confronts him and asks him what's the matter? He just looks at his with a lost expression, with heavy eyes and walks out of the door.  Alisha chases him and catching hold of his hand tells him - "I did hear Shivangi telling you that she doesn't love you and I know it well that you love her the most.  I know its really hard for you to believe, but it is for sure that she is in love with someone and she was to let all of us know today. What happened between you and her that she is crying inconsolably there and you are walking out from here like a log of wood. I have seen love for her in your eyes and I am sure you love her, then how could you leave her in such a state?" Tapan neither answers her nor he tells her anything, but just walks away from her towards his car. He gets in his cars and just drives out from there without knowing where is he headed.

Alisha runs inside once again and when she reaches where Rishabh and Shivangi were seated, she tells Rishabh to wind up the party and holds Shivangi. Shivangi by then had gained her composure and Alisha hands over a glass of water for her to drink. Shivangi takes sip and looks at Alisha as if asking where is Tapan?, to which Alisha tells her that he just left and was in a bad state of mind. She also tells her that he seemed to have been in lost state of mind and she is highly concerned about his safety as he might meet an accident if he drives in that state of mind.

Shivangi looks at him and says - "He is an amazing driver and his senses work pretty good whatever state of mind he might be in.  If he seemed to be in lost state of mind, I know where he would have headed and where to find him.  please take me to him as in anger I told him something that wasn't true.  i need to apologize to him and tell him the truth." As she completes, Rishabh arrives and asks her where she wanted to go to which Shivangi tells him the location near the creek and the direction from where one can drive to that point. Rishabh and Alisha tell her to move and they get out of Shangrila, get in the car and Rishabh starts driving towards the location as told by Shivangi.

As they approach the location, they could hear the sound of violin and Shivangi tells them to head in the direction of the sound as that tune being played is composed by Tapan and is his tune to help him compose and get out of the unbalanced state of mind.  As they get nearer and nearer, the depth of music and they realize that the tune is depicting a shattered heart and lost mind.  Rishabh blurts out "He loves you a lot Shivangi, he loves you a lot".  They see Tapan's car parked and Rishabh pulls over next to it.  Tapan just looks in their direction as his concentration was broken by the sound of a dieing engine.  As he sees Shivangi getting down from the car, he just stops playing the violin and gives her a stare as if saying "now what?"

Shivangi gets closer to him, holds his face in her hands, kisses on his forehead and says - "I am sorry Tapan and I really mean it.  I know what I told you in Shagrila must have hurt you the most, but it was not intentional.  I had wanted to tell you that I Love You and I had thought I would confess of my love for you on my b'day. I wanted to gift my love to you on my b'day and in turn getting you in gift from you.  But, may be the lack of communication in recent months made you feel gloomy and when you thought of Rishabh as my fiance, I lost my mind to have told you all that.  I have missed you a lot all the time we could not speak and I don't want to miss this date when I wanted us to be starting a new, a fresh relation.  I Love You Tapan..." as she completes her words letting her voice trail, she slides down on the ground holding Tapan's hand and rests her head on Tapan's palm.

Rishabh tells Alisha - "And I thought only Tapan is a maniac." Alisha just gives him a stare of mock anger.....

Was She Playing? - Part IV

Continued from Part III - Was She Playing

Tapan just sits in the corner looking around and sipping his mock-tail drink.  Few of his friends on the dance floor as well as around wave at him to join them either on the dance floor or on their side of the room, but he simply shrugs off the waving at them.  He just sits there and looks in the direction where Shivangi was dancing with her male partner.  As he looks in that direction, the music finishes and all the couples dancing on the floor clap at the completion of the dance round.  He sees Shivangi and her male partner engaging in some conversation and another girl joining them in their conversation.  He sees the girl and tries to recognize her.  He recalls - "Alisha!!! What the hell is she doing here?? how does she know Shivangi?? they never met each other to the best of my knowledge, then why the heck is she here??"  Tapan's mind simply starts working and shooting several questions to itself.  Tapan tries to relax but he just fails to get hold of his nerves.

As Tapan tries to gain his control back, his attention diverts from Shivangi and Alisha. He holds his head and closes his eyes to regain his composer.  While he was busy in getting himself back to the situation, he feels a hand tap on his shoulder. He opens his eyes and see Alisha standing next to him.  He greets her and gets up from his seat in the process.  Alisha immediately hugs him and tells him that she has a news for him.  But, before she could break the news, Shivangi and her male dance partner also arrive there and Shivangi first hugs Tapan and then introduces her male dance partner to Tapan.  Shivangi tells Tapan - "Tapan, this is...." Tapan cuts her off "Fiance?".

Before Shivangi could or her male dance partner could reply, Alisha hits Tapan hard on his arm and says - "Duffer, he is my fiance Rishabh and he is Shivangi's Boss.  He is the Managing Director of the company where Shivangi works. Damn I wanted to break this news to you, but you spoiled all the fun." As Alisha completes her statement, Tapan looks with a huge question mark towards her and then turns in Shivangi's direction.  But Shivangi was nowhere to be seen.  Tapan however greets Rishabh and congratulates him for getting a dream partner like Alisha.  Rishabh accepts the wishes and thanks Tapan.

Tapan looks around for Shivangi, his eyes trying to search her around the room, while he tells Alisha - "I guess I hurt Shivangi.  She had told me that she wants me to meet her Boy Friend and she wants to break the news to me before she tells anyone.  She invited me to her birthday party today to ensure that I meet her boyfriend and then she intended to declare it to the people on the floor.  But how dumb of me, I saw her dancing with Rishabh and thought he is her boyfriend.  I was though shocked to see you too around and was trying to find out your connection here.  I mean you never mentioned about Rishabh and you never mentioned about Shivangi.  I am not sure what's up with me.  Now I have hurt her on her birthday.  Not sure what to do next and how to make her feel better?"

Rishabh and Alisha give a stern look at Tapan while Alisha tells him - "Well Tapan, I am sure you are the dumbest person to not know who her boyfriend is.  She has never told us about her boyfriend neither did she ever tell us who he is.  But the way she used to always explain about the guy whom she was in love with and the ever perplexed facial expressions she used to detail out, now leaves no question with us.  What say Rishabh?" Rishabh nodes in affirmation and looks at Tapan telling him - "You surely broke my best buddy's heart today, you have hurt her the most.  She respects me as a professional as well as a person.  She considers me like her brother.  I am not sure how she would be feeling, but I sure am too furious to not have banged your nose."

Alisha interrupts and tells them -"Ok guys before you two pick up a fight and exchange few shots at each other, we need to first find Where the Heck is Shivangi?"

To be continued.......
